Guided SnoBear ice fishing on Devils Lake. The SnoBear is a heated fish house on tracks: we drive it out on the ice, drill through the floor, and move you to new fish as soon as the bite slows. Book a day trip, or Stay & Fish with a room at Woodland Resort.

How a day works

A day on the lake

  1. 1Meet your guide at the resort at 7:00 AM with your North Dakota fishing license and warm clothes. Rods, tackle, and electronics are included, so leave your gear at home.
  2. 2Fish a full 8 hours in a comfortable, climate-controlled SnoBear with our expert guides.
  3. 3Back around 3:00 PM, depending on conditions. Clean your catch at our heated, modern fish cleaning station.
  4. 4Settle in for dinner at Proz Lakeside at the Cove and a warm night at Woodland Resort.

Two ways to fish Run & Gun

Option 1 Day Trip Guided · no lodging

Eight hours on the ice with Zack or Garrett Schemionek. Rods, tackle, live and frozen bait, Livescope and Vexilar electronics, and transportation out and back are all included. Our heated fish cleaning station is yours to use when you get back.

Everything in the Day Trip, plus a room at Woodland Resort at our regular nightly rate. Meals aren't included, but Proz Lakeside at the Cove is a short walk from your door.

All prices are per group, not per person, with a 2-person minimum. Three anglers is the most one SnoBear holds; for bigger groups, call and we'll run more machines.

Day Trip

Eight guided hours in the SnoBear, from 7:00 AM to about 3:00 PM. Book one day or several in a row. The rate is per group, per day.

Option 2

Stay & Fish

Guided SnoBear days plus a room at Woodland Resort. You pay the Day Trip rate for each guided day and our regular nightly rate for your room, plus $35 per night for each guest over the room's base occupancy. There are no upgrade fees, and meals aren't included. You arrive the night before your first day on the ice.

Good to know

Before you book

  • Party size2-person minimum, up to 3 anglers per SnoBear. You pay for the seats you reserve: book 3, show up with 2, and the trip is still the 3-angler rate.
  • LicenseEvery angler needs a North Dakota fishing license. Buy it online at gf.nd.gov before you arrive.
  • Deposit50% when you book, balance due the morning of your first fishing day. We keep a card on file.
  • CancellationCancel 30 or more days ahead for a full deposit refund. Inside 30 days the deposit isn't refunded, but we'll move it to another open date this season when we can.
  • WeatherThe SnoBear fishes in nearly any weather. We cancel only for unsafe ice, a blizzard, or a travel ban, and then you choose a new date or get your deposit back.
  • Early & late iceIf the ice can't safely carry the SnoBear, we fish from a wheelhouse or portable instead. We'll tell you before you drive out.
  • Extra guestsRoom rates cover 2 guests (4 in the two- and three-bedroom cabins and suites). Each extra guest is $35 per night. There are no room upgrade fees.
  • MealsNot included on any trip. Pack a lunch for the ice. Proz Lakeside at the Cove is right on site for dinner.
  • GratuityNot included. If your guide worked hard for your fish, 15–20% is customary.
